Vinyl-a-Day 42: Colin Blunstone - “One Year” (Epic, 1971)

Colin Blunstone - “One Year” (Epic, 1971)

People don’t talk enough about Colin Blunstone. His first solo outing, recorded in the year proceeding the breakup of The Zombies could almost be considered the final Zombies album as it features significant contributions from other ex-Zombies Rod Argent and Chris (who by then had formed Argent). I think the vibe of this album could most accurately be described as the “afterglow” of the “Odessey and Oracle” trip... You feel lighter, happier, a bit reflective, but the hallucinations have gone... I gotta stop talking about drugs. Favs: “She Loves the Way You Love Her”, “Misty Roses,” “Caroline Goodbye,” and “Say You Don’t Mind.”
